ReTune Nashville gives preview of flood damaged instrument-art up for auction at May 3 event
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — (Tuesday, March 29, 2011) – Tickets are on sale now for ReTune Nashville’s Anniversary Celebration Music and Art Event on Tuesday May 3, 2011 at Soundcheck. ReTune Nashville announces the selection of flood damaged instrument artwork that will be auctioned off that evening which include pieces from ADDY Award Winner Joel Anderson, Singer/Songwriter Steve Wariner, Performance Painter Rachel Kice, and popular metal artists Chris Beck and Brother Mel.

The Anniversary Celebration Music and Art Event will feature a concert, live and silent auction and complimentary food and beverages with admission. October’s flood relief event raised $20,000 for Nashville musicians and welcomed approximately 500 guests.

ReTune Nashville’s Board of Directors and advisers selected certain pieces for the live auction based upon their public interest and commemoration of the 2010 flood. Founder Sheri O’Neal comments, “The artwork that will be sold in the live auction at our May event are the pieces that truly signify and celebrate Nashville. These remaining pieces capture the spirit of Nashville and it is our hope that they will help raise much needed funds for Nashville’s musicians still struggling to recover from last year’s flood.”

Songwriter/Artist Ray Stephenson (Kenny Chesney’s “Hemingway’s Whiskey”) is creating a special art piece from Peter Frampton‘s flood damaged guitar, which will join artwork from local Nashville artists Randy L. PurcellJeff Bertrandand Cartoonist (Nancy)/Songwriter Guy Gilchrist in the May 3 live auction.

A list and images of all pieces up for auction is available on ReTune Nashville’s blog, and will be updated as new artwork is added to the event.

Tickets for the music and art event are $35 and are on sale now at ReTune Nashville’s ticket site.
